Back after one of the longest hiatuses in my running life. Took 3 weeks and 2 days off. My foot had been bothering me so I decided to rest it. Started my spring season today. Got out for an easy 2 miles in a balmy 15 degrees with wind chills hovering near 0. Splits:

1- 7:31.9

2- 7:19.4

TOTAL--14:51, 7:25.5 avg

Aside from being my longest break in a while, i am also about as out of shape as ive ever been. Its amazing how much u lose in 3 weeks. Gonna get back at it tho, this first two weeks is gonna be tough. Goals for this season, sub 1:20 half finally--goal race April 9; also i am going to run my first full marathon on may 15. first goal is to finish, second is to BQ (3:10), third layer goal is sub 3.

early run today. 2.2 in 15:36, 7:05 avg pace. Still feeling pretty outta shape, i imagine this will continue for some time. started friday at 20 second situp routine and still at 20 today. will try to increase in increments of 5 sec every week from now on out. Also will add in some new stuff to change it up.

Nice run today. Just went out for an easy 2.5 and hit all my miles at GMP according to my avg pace. Kind of a nice surprise on 4 days of training for this cycle. It felt really easy tho, so that is an encouraging sign. Splits:

1- 6:53.2

2- 7:08.2 (not sure where the mile was)

last .5-- 3:25 (6:50 pace)

TOTAL--17:27, 6:59 avg pace

Overall, a good little 2.5 mile run. As my training builds i hope to build off this promising start. Weather today: 26 degrees, wc: 14

Got out this christmas eve morning for 3.5 in heavy snow. We already have 6-7 inches on the ground and it was still coming down at a good clip during my entire run. Got pelted in the eyes a few times, but other than that most of the streets I ran on were pretty well plowed, so only had to slow it up a few times to slog through some drifts. Splits:

Got out about 7 pm tonight for a 4.3 mile run in the dark. It was very cold, about 13 degrees with freezing fog which stuck to my eyelashes and beard. Other than that, I ran pretty well and didnt slip and slide too much. Splits:

4 slowish miles today. Slowed down a lot by the tiredness in my legs from just waking up and running. low 20s with w/c's pretty similar. Not too bad of weather this time of year. Streets are still snowed over so its tough to run hard in places. Splits:

first tempo run of the new season. Perfect weather for it. Very rare to get this warm in december, but it was 53 today while I ran. Everything was melting and with shorts and a long sleeve t-shirt with rolled up sleeves and a hat, i was sweating big time. Not complaining! Splits:

early morning 3 mile slog/shakeout in the cold and wind. temp: 22, wc: 10. Splits:

1- 7:23.4

2- 7:28.1

3- 7:20.0

Last run of 2010. Finished the year with 1443 miles, which is 115 less than last year. Had a tougher season this year. There was no signature race or any race of a distance longer than 10k. Although I had two seperate training sessions geared for longer races, I never ran one either because of getting worn out or injury (foot problems at the end of november). Overall, my season had 3 major highlights.

3- 17 mile long run in april. Longest run ever, ran for over 2 hours.

2- 16:47 5k clocked at the Carlisle 4th of July 5k. tied for 2nd fastest ever 5k

1- Winning 3 of my first 3 races of the year, including a win at the 10k distance, representing the first win at a distance longer than 5k. See My Races.

Bring on 2011! My upcoming goals:

1- Run a marathon....finally.

2- Break 1:20 in the half!

3- Run a marathon while in Germany

4- Break 3:00 in the marathon.
