First race as a colorado resident today. the denver broncos back to football 7k. Interesting choice for a distant. Started with the goal in mind of running 3:45 kms for the race and go was between 26:15-26:30. Felt sluggish the first 5k, then flew the last 2k (which was big downhill and helped a lot)--needed that turnover to get into gear later. splits (km):

1- 3:45

2- 3:45 (7:30, right on)

3- 3:47

4- 3:49

5- 3:54

6- 3:49

7- 3:22 (+6 seconds - must not have run tangents well as i had 7.04km

total - 26-19, 3:44/km pace, right where i wanted to be

reaction - was surprised with how tired I felt at the gun, but i hadn't really tapered or cut for this race, plus it was my first one at altitude since living and training here, breathing was heavy it felt like. opened it up well though at the end, downhill certainly helped, final mile was 5:39.1 according to my garmin. 5k was 18:41. Overall, it was fun to get racing again and it was very cool how they had us end on the field.
